Anniversary Info Esmeralda Concept Art

  


After talking briefly with my friend Sephy about how Book Esmeralda and Disney Phoebus would get along I decided to focus the next journal on concept art.    

The early stages of Esmeralda's features resembled more from the original novel, very young and innocent.  Disney knew however they would have to change this since they chose to have Frollo a lot older than he was in the book.  Can you just imagine how that would have been to have a far younger Esmeralda for the church scene when Frollo sniffs her hair?    Nope, it never would have worked for a Disney movie.  It's amazing that scene still got on the screen anyway, but it helped a little that Disney's Esmeralda is in her early 20s.
